Corona created very difficult moment for the society. When urban people easily acquired the government information and facilities, rural people did not acquire those easily. So our organization did spread awareness about COVID-19, and many more information about treatment, investigations, and medical facilities through announcements at Khordha an Kalahandi District from December to March.
During COVID/Corona pandemic period from May to March in different areas of khordha district, mainly Bhubaneswar and some parts of Kalahandi district like Thuamula Grampur Block, KSC distributated Dry foods, cooked foods, masks, medicines, sanitizers, rations, and clothes among the people, which was made possible by the help of some volunteers, local people, our organization’s members contribution. Some local organization like Satya Sai Seba Sanghathan, Jibandhara, Peacebell and few people who were willing to donate for this noble cause. Not only the people but also the street animals like cows, dogs, cats etc. were given foods and water.
KSC organized health camps in different areas of Bhubaneswar and Thuamula Grampur Block at Kalahandi district from December to March. Free health check-ups and medicines was distributed among the needy people. Many people benefited by these camps. Dr. Nibedita & her team and Dr. Benudhar Satpathy associated with these camps. KSC also distributed masks and sanitizers in the locality.
Yoga and Naturopathy has a significant value on the health and the mind during corona pandemic but the importance of Yoga on the present materialistic world has gone down. To receive the yoga and naturopathy to cure various diseases and ailments in human body, KSC organized two camps of fifteen days in Khandagiri (JAN 8- JAN 14) and Tomando (FEB 22- MAR 07) of Khordha District. Local people got largely benefited from these camps.
KSC provided many sustainable temporary shelters and supplied food, water, clothes, medical attention to needy elderly people during corona pandemic. Organization members, youths and many local people joined this noble activity voluntarily.
A Plantation/Environment Awareness Programme was held in Vivekananda Sikshya Kendra, Baramunda H.B. Colony, Bhubaneswar at 9am on 2nd Jan 2021. Some medicinal plants were planted and the local people were made aware of various environmental problems and their solutions. They also made aware of how to keep environment healthy, clean and green. Local Corporator graced this programme with his presence.
8 th March is the International Women's Day. On that day, KSC organized a camp on legal protection of women rights among the women leaders particularly SHG leaders & to enable them to get their rights readdressed properly & timely at Community Centre, Baramunda H.B. Colony, Bhubaneswar, Khordha. Smt. Rashmi Prabha Panigrahi, advocate Bhubaneswar Bar Council, coordinated this programme.
KSC organised 3 days income generation programme like Mushroom Cultivation among the women of Bhubaneswar slums on 29th January to maintain their economy during corona pandemic.
Under the affiliation of Lalit Kala Kendra, Government of Odisha, Bhubaneswar, KSC is running an Art School at Chekaisinai, Mancheswar, Bhubaneswar. The classes are held regularly and an annual certification course examination is held annually. Dance, Music, Music instrumental classes are also held regularly.
